Five years ago today, the ink was drying on my business license application, I had just hit “publish website”, and my dreams were becoming a reality. Those who have known me awhile know that photography has always been in my blood. I was the one who had a camera with me out with friends, the one who took every last photography class in high school and college (unfortunately there weren’t a whole lot to choose from at the college level), and the one who if anyone asked what I really wanted to be doing with my life responded with photography. I just didn’t think it was in the cards for me. In 2007, I had been married less than a year and was teaching special education at a middle school in Virginia. I knew kids were in my future and I wanted the chance to be with them as much as possible. So one day I decided to go for it…and here I am.
It’s been a bumpy ride, but I can honestly say that it’s been an amazing journey so far. Clients have turned into friends, weddings have turned into babies, and toothless grins have turned into beautiful smiles. I truly love working with families over and over, and meeting new people on a weekly basis! Those new baby snuggles aren’t too shabby either:)
For those of you who have supported me in one way or another over the past five years, thank you.
